Leah Wildwood Portland Doula

Leah Castaneda (she/her)

I came to this work through my own experience with becoming a parent - birth and postpartum broke me open in ways that I never could have imagined and I found myself completely unprepared for the transition. The years that followed have been filled with learning, growing, and an ever stronger certainty that we humans are not meant to make this journey alone.

I am a Certified Postpartum Doula through Birthingway College of Midwifery, and my continuing education leads towards a practice that both embraces the uniqueness of each individual and honors the humanity that we all share. I offer compassionate, practical care to any and all individuals seeking support following the birth or adoption of a baby.

Leah is simply a wonderful human being. She came into our home with lots of warmth, understanding, gentleness and wisdom. I felt very comfortable to have her in my home, giving me breaks to shower and have a little me time, while she was taking care of our baby girl. Leah listens thoroughly, remembers conversations and continues the thread even weeks later. She has a great sense of humor and teaches awesome baby massage!! We love her and recommend her to every mom, dad and baby.
