Jordan Monir (she/her)

Hello! I’m Jordan, a passionate supporter of families and babies. In my over a decade of nannying experience, it became a true passion of mine to meet families where they are and to provide support exactly where it might be needed on any given day. Directly witnessing many of the families that I’ve served and some of my closest friends go through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, I came to realize how truly profound the perinatal period is. I was determined to learn everything I could related to birth and postpartum, and quickly realized that I was feeling called to be a doula. I trained as a fertility, birth, and postpartum doula and felt uniquely drawn to help families in the postpartum period. Through my experience, I have always noticed a lack of support during that time – what can be the most challenging time in someone's life. I completed my postpartum doula certification and got to work.

As a postpartum doula, I love to support families in finding their true power as new parents and in learning to trust their instincts. I strive to be a steadying, comforting, and reliable presence for families that are adjusting to postpartum life and recovering from birth. It’s important to me to adapt to the unique needs of each family that I support, because everyone's postpartum experience is different. I work to create a space where families feel they can express all of their emotions or concerns and where every member of the family feels they are getting the support they need.

Early in my journey, it became evident that a huge pain point for new families is sleep, or lack thereof, with a newborn. I received my certification as an Infant and Family Sleep Specialist so that I could better support families in overcoming sleep related struggles in the postpartum period. My passion for helping families get enough sleep continues to grow, and includes providing overnight support.

As a queer person, I love supporting families of every shape and size, and I consider it such a privilege to be a part of such an important time in someone’s life.

Jordan is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, but it’s not just what she knows – it’s who and how she is as a person that makes her so wonderful to work with. Jordan is kind, patient, and intentional in her work. She is thoughtful and observant and readily anticipates others’ needs. She’s a calm, clear communicator and manages to stay present with people even under stress. Jordan has been a steadfast and positive thread through our parenting journey, and we’d recommend her without hesitation to anyone who is looking for support in theirs.
